one hot week - Jul 19, 2010

Greetings from the plains of Kansas where the past week has not seen a day below 100 degrees, and terrible humidity!
It has been soooo hot here! I can't stand it! It is very difficult to want to stay outside when it is this hot! I have been drinking over 3 liters of water a day, from my camelback blader! The people say that August here is even worse! I don't know if I can handle that!
Oh yea, It's my birthday! It's cool that I get to write you all on my birthday! Thank you so much for the video, I was able to watch it, but not hear it, because the library does not have any speakers or headphones. Don't worry though, I will find a way!

I havent gotten any of the packages yet, but I probably will not until Wednesday or Thursday. Today is going to be crazy (figures it would happen on my birthday). Elder benton will be going to his Temple Jubilee (temple trip with the mission president when you hit your year mark) tomorrow, but leaves today at 4 for colorado springs. I will be down in Liberal, Kansas with someone until he gets back. Also my district leader up in Colby is going on exchanges with the ZL's in Garden, so we have to take them down earlier today! So in short, I will not be in scott city to get any mail or packages until elder benton gets back wednesday night!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLARA! I was going to send a card, but I didn't remember until the day of her birthday, so I thought this would get to you guys faster!
So that is pretty much everything that has happened. We have gotten a couple of really good storms, and the missionaries up in Colby got a hail storm with softball sized hail! They went out and grabbed some and put it in their freezer and showed us later! It is rediculous.
I love you guys, and miss you guys a lot!

Sincerely,
Elder Smalley
